*Dare to Draw

Learn how to sketch a clothed, live model by doing gesture sketches in pencil, ballpoint pen and marker studies. Students explore the importance of line quality, tonal values, perspective and composition, as well as the basics of facial expressions, hand gestures and figure construction. Demonstrations by the instructor illustrate drawing techniques covered throughout the class. Uko currently teaches character development and storytelling at CCAD. Materials are provided by the instructor for the marker studies, but students should bring an 18” x 24” newsprint pad; a 14” x 17” 2-ply Bristol pad; pencil leads 2H, B, HB and a gum eraser (estimated cost of supplies $25-$30). All levels of experience are welcome.
